Ms. Hari Chandana Dasari

Ms. Hari Chandana Dasari is referred to as a Dynamic IAS Officer in India with substantial vision. She cleared the UPSC exams on the second attempt and was assigned to Telangana's state cadre (IAS 2010 Batch). She top-off her M.Sc in Environmental Sciences at the London School of Economics. She has one year of work experience in a U.N.D.P project funded by the World Bank, worked as an Assistant Collector, Sub Collector, T.S Cadre, Zonal Municipal Commissioner, Collector & District Magistrate under the Government of India, and worked as an Additional Commissioner and Managing Director. She received immense awards from state and Central Governments.

Mr. Chintakindi Mallesham

Traditional Weaver

Mr. Chintakindi Mallesham has been acclaimed for his invention of the Lakshmi Asu machine, reducing the manual effort weavers required in Pochampally. It has helped reduce the cycle time from around six hours to about ninety minutes. He is a recipient of Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award in India for the year 2017. A biopic on his life was released in 2019 in the lead role with the eponymous title Mallesham. In October 2008, Mallesham was felicitated in a Workshop at Osmania University Engineering College, Hyderabad. His machine was named “Laxmi Asu Machine” after her mother and was dedicated to her. Mallesham’s happiness is beyond measure noticing the relieved faces of the women of the weaving community.

Mahesh Sharma has over 35 years of experience in armed forces and corporate sector. He is an Air Force veteran who retired voluntarily as a Group Captain in 2012 when he was head of training at Air Force Academy at Dundigal. He has had diverse exposure in highly demanding environment, both in India and abroad. After completing his fellowship in Strategic Intelligence at the US National Defence University, he has also worked in counter-intelligence and strategic policy making roles. Shakeel Ahmed (Ph.D., 1987, Mines ParisTech, France) is presently Professor at Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, India. As an Earth Scientist, he worked extensively in Groundwater Hydrology in his 37 years career at the CSIR’s National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad. Later he was Chair Professor at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He led many national and international projects on Earth Science including a mega program of National Aquifer Mapping in India with around 200 SCI publications and supervised 40 doctoral theses. He is managing the Secretariat of the Asian GWADI, a UNESCO flagship program as its Secretary. His awards include National Geoscience Award, International Prize for water Science, INC-IAH Excellence Award, NGRI-AHI National Lecture Award, IGU-Annie Talwani Memorial Prize, Young Scientist Award, etc. Ahmed has been the top publisher in the field of groundwater Hydrology for last 3 decades.
